Evan Loukusa, MD

Dr. Evan Loukusa is a family physician who enjoys hearing people's stories and helping patients make lifestyle changes to reach their goals. Dr. Loukusa completed his medical school education at the University of Minnesota including elective training in culinary medicine. Recognizing the lack of nutrition information in the standard curriculum, Dr. Loukusa participated in curriculum reform efforts and helped found an interdisciplinary health profession group with the goal of helping more health students learn practical nutrition skills. During his residency training in Marquette, he led food-focused shared medical appointments in collaboration with community groups. He believes that nourishing food and exercise are some of the best medicines! Born in Minnesota, he married a Yooper and loves spending time outdoors with his family in the Upper Peninsula. He goes in Lake Superior at least once every month and enjoys mountain biking.
